The Fifth Survivor - Epsiode 1 Page 9
Picked up a Black Keycard. Looking at the back, it reads “Weapon Storage”
After picking up the keycard, a metal door falls off one of the storage units. A few seconds later, a zombie comes out of the storage unit and the six zombies on the floor rise from the floor.
“Oh God, I’m not safe even in the autopsy room!” George shouts.
With pistol in hand, he begins to shoot the zombie that comes out of the storage unit and kills it in four shots.
Pistol Ammo: 47
After killing the first zombie, he tries to kill the rest of them. He’s able to kill two of them until the other four begin to get too close for comfort. Not wanting to be bitten, he jumps on one of the beds, and rolls off it. The bed is rather stiff and uncomfortable. He falls to the floor on his hurt arm and he feels the pain again.
Pistol Ammo: 40
Ignoring the pain, he goes back to shooting the rest of the zombies. Considering the zombies are not smart or athletic enough to go through the beds, shooting the zombies is an easy task for George. After shooting off 15 rounds, he manages to survive the onslaught.
Pistol Ammo: 25
Running out of bullets, he desperately looks for the weapon storage hoping to find much needed supplies. He finds a map of the hospital for the sixth floor and sees the weapon storage is not on the sixth floor. The stairwell to the 5th floor west side is next to him though and he heads towards the door.
The ceiling ahead of him collapses and Mr. Z comes down from the seventh floor to George’s shock. The double doors behind him close by themselves. Running to the door, George turns the doorknob only to find out the doors are locked with a maglock. Mr. Z walks towards him and tries to strike him with a left hook that he’s able to side step from.
The fist hits the door and damages it to the point where it’s beyond repair. Mr. Z grabs him as he tries to run from it and throws him towards the broken door. George hits the door hard and takes a decent amount of damage.
Condition: Danger
After hitting the door, he is unable to get up quickly. Mr. Z joins his left and right hands and tries to perform a double-axe handle on George. With no energy to get up, he braces for impact hoping to survive. As Mr. Z lifts up its arms ready to strike, loud booms can be heard.
He sees blood coming from the head of Mr. Z as he struggles to roll away or get up for that matter. The loud booms continue and he can only wonder where they’re coming from. Mr. Z turns its attention towards looking behind it and walks in the other direction. A few seconds later, the monster goes down on its knees and falls face first.
“Wait, who shot that monster down? Who’s there?” He shouts.
He looks ahead and spots a mysterious looking woman with long hair. His vision is impaired at the moment and he’s unable to tell who the woman is.
“Get out of here, now!” The mysterious woman screams.
The woman runs down the stairway and says nothing more. George is finally able to start getting up and looks in the pockets of Mr. Z to see if he finds anything useful. He finds some much needed ammo.
Picked up two Pistol Clips. +30 Pistol Ammo.
Pistol Ammo: 55
He finds nothing to heal himself however, which is what he desperately needs. Limping his way towards the end of the hall, his vision begins to get a little better. When he reaches the end of the hall, he finds an aerosol can on the floor that he picks up.
Picked up a First Aid Spray.
George uses the First Aid Spray.
Condition: Fine
When he uses the first aid spray, he begins to feel much better. His vision improves as well. He’s unsure who left it for him, but he believes the mystery woman probably left it for him. Despite the good will, he can’t be entirely sure whose side is she’s on and why did she tell him to leave.
“In one sense she saved me from Mr. Z, but in another sense she just left. Either she really saved me or she wants me out of here because she’s with Hybrid. Then again she could have just shot me, I was down.” He says to himself.
Looking further on the floor, he finds shell casings of a Desert Eagle Action Express. The bullet casings are fifty calibers as far as he can tell. The problem is that he has no idea where she could have gone.
He goes down the stairway and goes back to the fifth floor. There are four zombies are in the hallway who were doctors before they were exposed to the virus. He kills the four zombies easily with his pistol.
Pistol Ammo: 41
He looks for the main office located on the floor. This part of the fifth floor is dark with only a few lights on. Walking carefully, he sees the weapon storage room with the keycard reader next to the door. Looking at the reader though, there is no light on the reader. He inserts the black keycard into the reader, but it doesn’t enter the reader.
“Damn, it looks like the reader is out of order. I better find the power source, pronto. My only chance for survival is in there.” He says.
Looking at the map next to the weapon storage of the floor, he sees that the power room is located by the waiting room where he was cut off from the rest of the fifth floor. He walks down the hall and is grabbed by a zombie on his left side. The zombie bites him on his injured arm before he pushes it away.
Condition: Caution (Level 1)
After pushing the zombie away, he shoots the zombie with three head shots with his pistol killing it.
Pistol Ammo: 38
Once the zombie is dead, George turns to his right and walks towards the power station. Before he can get to the power station, there is a shaft that is blocking him. There is no power going to the shaft, but upon further review he sees that there is a manual override bolt. He has nothing to turn it though.
There is a door to his right that he opens. Upon entering he sees that it’s the mechanical room. Looking around the room, he’s interrupted by a loud sound coming from above. He sees a pointy stick next to him that he grabs just in case.
Picked up a Pointy Stick. Normally used to pick up small pieces of paper, this can be used as a last resort defensive item.
With the pointy stick in hand, he slowly walks deeper into the room. Reaching the back of the room, he bumps into a tool cabinet. He looks in the toolbox until he finds a tool that will turn the bolt. Eventually he finds something.
Picked up a Wrench. This can be used to turn the bolt and override the shaft.
As soon as his hands touch the wrench, he hears the loud noise again. Taking the wrench, he sees a vent come down along with a new creature he hasn’t seen.
“What the hell is that?” He asks.
The new creature is a lizard that is able to stand up on two feet. It sports a pair of deadly claws along with high agility. It’s code named Lizarda.
The Lizarda jumps up to one of the shelves and attempts to slash George in midair. He is able to duck under the attack and tries to run out of the room. The Lizarda jumps up and it lands in front of the door. It attempts to attack George again and he’s able to back away from the attack. As he’s moving backward, he slips on some papers and falls. The Lizarda walks up to George as he tries to get up.
With the pointy stick in hand, he waits until the lizard gets close and thrusts the stick into the heart of the creature. He thrusts the stick continuously into the heart in a desperate attempt to kill it. After about ten thrusts, the Lizarda falls and screams until it falls to the floor. When it falls to the ground, blue blood begins to pour out. While the color might be different, George still associates the lizard as a by product of the Hybrid Corporation.
Getting up from the floor, he looks at the lizard to make sure its dead. Leaving the mechanical room, he heads back to the shaft. Going to the shaft, he uses the wrench to turn the bolt. Fighting the pain of his arm, he turns the bolt as fast as he can. The shaft goes up slowly. Despite it going up slowly, he continues to fight through the pain knowing his life is on the line.
After a minute or so of turning the bolt, the shaft goes up and the path is clear for h
im to move forward. Going through the hallway, he can see the door to the power area just ahead. He walks to the brown metal door until he hears the wall behind break. When he turns back, he finds that it’s Mr. Z once again giving chase.
He runs into the power room and sees that it’s full of transformers along with huge circuit breaker boxes. George hides behind one of the transformers when Mr. Z breaks the metal door. The monster begins to look for him around the room. George moves around the power room keeping his eyes on where Mr. Z is going. Moving around the room hiding from the monster, he reaches a closet.
He enters the closet and is barely able to fit due to his build. Mr. Z walks around the room looking for George and passes by the closet. The monster doesn’t see George and passes right by him. After a minute, Mr. Z screams in fury and leaves the room. Once George sees it leave, he squeezes out of the closet.
“Man do I need to lose weight when this is over.” He says to himself.
Looking around the room, he passes by many circuit breaker boxes until he spots one that is labeled “fifth floor west”. He carefully opens the box and sees the circuit breakers inside labeled.
Which breaker will you trip?
1. Weapon Storage Keycard Reader
2. Elevator
3. 5th Floor East Hall Lights
4. 5th Floor West Hall Lights
You have tripped breakers 1 and 4.
Switching the breakers, the breakers stay in place. That perplexes him wondering why those breakers off were in the first place. He doesn’t think about it much and leaves the power room. Walking back to the hallway, he sees the hall lights are on. Before he gets to the weapon storage room, zombies pop out of the offices to his left and right.
Running back to get distance, he begins to shoot the five zombies. He kills four of them easily while one of them dives towards his feet. The zombie begins to bite his left foot and he steps on its head with his right foot. He avoids taking any damage from the bite.
Pistol Ammo: 22
Figuring the offices won’t have anything useful, he decides to go to the keycard reader. He inserts the card reader and the light turns green. A click is heard and he opens the door. In the storage room, he finds ammo and healing items that he helps himself to.
Picked up +12 Magnum Rounds. Magnum Rounds: 12
Picked up Two Pistol Clips. Pistol Ammo: 52
Picked up a Green Herb.
Picked up a Red Herb.
George mixes the Green and Red Herbs to create a Super Herb.
After picking up the items, he reloads his magnum with the fresh bullets. Looking around the room, he sees a locker that he opens. There is a UMP 45 that could be useful.
“This can be useful, just what the doctor ordered. Not sure what it’s doing in a hospital, but whatever.” He says happily.
Picked up a UMP 45. This is a great sub-machine gun capable of clearing out a room full of zombies. George checks the gun only to find that the gun doesn’t shoot and is broken. It can be repaired in the basement armory.
“Crap it’s broken! Just my lousy luck I guess. God damn it, can anything else go wrong in this hell hole.” He says.
Slamming the gun on the floor, he finds nothing else in the room and leaves. He refuses to go back to the basement to repair the gun knowing Mr. Z is around looking for him along with the other bio-hazard creatures. Back in the hallway, he walks straight instead of going right like before. After walking for a minute, he finds the main office. Grabbing the key for the door, he opens it and enters.
Looking in the room, he begins to ransack the room in anger over what the hospital has allowed to happen. His emotions get the best of him as he suspects that the hospital is part of the cover up and perhaps working with Hybrid. Throwing the chairs and ripping the draws off the desk like a madman, he eventually finds a document that catches his attention.
Contract with Hybrid
To: My trustworthy assistant AKA –Gregory: The Head of Surgery
“We’re about to make a fortune with Hybrid, but there is a catch. We have to make sure this stays secret as I’m sure the authorities along with those FDA goonies won’t take well to this partnership. Anyway, we are to keep the secret experiments with Hybrid on the 12th floor. Don’t worry, as long as a certain someone keeps their mouth shut, we’ll be alright. That means you!
The 12th floor is not on any maps for a reason and it’s to stay that way. I never mentioned this, but I’m not only interested in the money. I’m actually intrigued by the idea of creating super creatures and superhumans. I love the idea of being a superhuman and working with Hybrid. I always dreamed of a New World Order where I have the power.
You see I was always bullied in school for being a ‘nerd’. I won’t bore you with my life story and just cut to the chase. Hybrid will pay us our first quarter of a million dollars as soon as we provide test results for Mr. Z. It’s supposed to be their new ultimate superhuman model since the failure of Polybius. I’m glad that Polybius failed, besides I didn’t want to turn into a monster.
Although I will say having a huge claw like Polybius would be nice. I can use it to kill my enemies, especially that bastard George Fisher. I hate him with a passion and he’s the only man I know who can foil me and my plans. Oh he thinks he can hide behind his pen name of ‘The Fish Master’, so clever yet so predictable!
Hybrid has also told me that a bonus will be offered if we whack anybody on their hit list or those we suspect are onto them. George might not be on their hit list, but he’s on mine! Also that Dave man gets on my nerves, a wannabe scientist. I can’t believe he thought we were actually friends, what a buffoon. Too bad I won’t get my hands on him as ‘Mr. B’ will take care of him, oh well. The ultimate power will be in our hands soon enough. Raven Hawk will be the virus that takes out bodies to the next level. We will along with Hybrid created a master race!
If it seems I’m losing my mind, I’m not! I’m just very focused and I know I can trust you. However, I have to let you know anyway. If I find out that you’re trying to screw me over or you tell the authorities, especially George or Dave, I will personally take you out!
P.S. – I really mean the last part.
Sincerely,
Witwer – President of Woodhull Hospital
“I’m glad that bastard Witwer got what he deserved! Looks like I’m in a rat trap. Best thing for me to do is get out of here before I become public enemy number one for Hybrid.” He says.
Reading the memo confirms his suspicions that the meeting between Hybrid and Witwer was nothing but bad news. In fact, he finds out that there are more skeletons in the closet. Opening the draw to the desk, he finds a keycard.
Picked up a Blue Keycard. Looking in the back of the keycard, it reads 3rd floor parking lot door.
“I got the second keycard for the parking lot. I got my escape route planned now. It’s just the matter of actually escaping.” He says.
One thing he hasn’t seen or heard for a while is the little girl. He questions if she’s still alive and if so, where? He also wonders if he was just hearing and seeing things as he’s been seeing a lot of weird things. For now, he just wants to escape and figure out how to expose Hybrid from the comfort of his home.
Chapter 8
With both keycards in his hand, he leaves the room slamming the door. After leaving the room, he kneels down and cries in anger.
“Why? Why? These bastards have gone too far! I’ll avenge you Dave. That’s not a threat but a promise.” He says angrily.
Gathering himself after his angry outburst, he walks to the stairway door. Walking down the stairs, he gets all the way to the fourth floor without incident. He sees a gate blocking the stairs leading down to the third floor.
“Crap! Just what I needed, another obstacle. I bet that woman is trying to make sure I don’t escape. I gotta watch my back and make sure I get out of here in one piece.” He says while kicking the gate.
The gate doesn’t budge despite his hard kicks. Turni
ng around, he heads to the fourth floor. Entering the hallway, he walks in slowly. He sees a sign indicating that he’s in the dental care area of the hospital. As he looks ahead, he can see the hall in front of him is filled with huge spider webs covering the entire hall.
“God that stuff is bad even for the most experienced of dentists. Don’t tell me the spiders have come to get their teeth check out as well.” He says to himself.
Walking forward, George sees the path to his left is covered in debris and is unable to go there. Looking towards the spider webs in front of him, a couple of huge tarantulas crawl from behind the webs. Pulling out his magnum, he shoots two rounds at one of the spiders. The spider dies pouring out the disgusting rancid green blood.
The second spider tries to spit at him with a poisonous substance, but he’s able to dodge the spit. After diving out of the way, the spider tackles him before he can get up.
Condition: Caution (Level 2)
Hitting the floor again, he is unable to get up as the spider ends up on top of him. He drops his magnum and is unable to recover it. Attempting to punch the spider, he fails miserably and the spider attempts to bite his neck.
The same loud boom is heard again twice and he can see two gunshot wounds land on the spider weakening it. With the spider off him that gives him an opportunity to grab his magnum. He shoots it in the mouth and kills it. After he kills the spider, he looks behind to see who saved him. There is nobody there. Walking back, he can see more Desert Eagle shell casings on the floor.
Magnum Rounds: 9
“That woman was here and she saved me again. What I don’t understand is why does she run away from me? Could it be that she’s an employee of Hybrid turned rogue? I gotta find that woman and find out. She might actually be of help to me and get me off that janitor’s uniform for good.” He says.
He forgets about the mystery woman and walks through the spider webs into the rest of the hallway. Walking down the hall, he thinks whether he should use the super herb or wait as he knows healing items are at a premium despite his location.
Deciding not to use his last healing item, he continues to walk until he gets to the next stairway door. Entering the fourth floor lobby that houses the pharmacy, he sees the door to the stairway. The stairway door slams open and a couple of lizardas pop out.
